GIRIU DVASIOS - INSPIRATION COMES FROM THE LITHUANIAN FORESTS...

Girių Dvasios is a dub techno, electronic dub and ambient music project started in early 2009.
The name of the project means 'The Spirits of The Woods' in Lithuanian.
The sound of Girių Dvasios is inspired by ancient Baltic culture and the nature of this area. A big inspiration and influence comes from thick forests of Lithuania. Every Girių Dvasios track ( like 'Greitai') has a Lithuanian name, which is in one way or another related to nature.
He combines traditional dub elements, slick minimal house techniques, dense atmospherics and an ultramodern array of sounds; creating varying environs of uncomparable organic clarity.





IMINAZOLE - OSAKA AND MANIPULATED LOOPS [DUB TECHNO, 2013]


Osaka, nje nga qytetet me te bukura ne Japoni, na ka falur artiste te panumert si; Boredoms, Afrirampo, Blood Stain Child etj etj, edhe pse nuk dua te perqendrohem tek ky aspekt tani.
Iminazole, eshte emer-projekti i brazilianit Cesar 'M1A1' Alexandre i cili, gjate pushimeve te tij ne kete qytet, realizoi nje album mjaft melankolik dhe ambient. Seciles prej dhjete gjurmeve te albumit (Osaka and Manipulated Loops, 2013) i shoqerohet nje fotografi e shkrepur ne pjese te ndryshme te qytetit.





















Duke marre ne konsiderate kete rendesi vizive qe ky do te na trasmetoje, eshte per tu permenduar edhe kopertina e albumit; nje shtylle dritash rrugore me ngjyra te percaktuara mire (me te kalter dhe te gjelbert), por me fokusin e humbur me dashje, duke lene pas nje hije vetmie (endrrimtare), e megjithate brenda nje qyteti kaq urban!
Me kete sfond nga Lindja e Larget,  Iminazole na fton te ecim neper rruget e mbuluara me re te zeza (shpesh degjohet kampjone te shiut qe bien, zera te natyres qe perzien mire me perdorimin e reverberation dhe echos). Melodia eshte e zvogeluar ne minimum, me rrahjet e baterise qe ruajne ritmin tipik dub techno, urban, nokturn, ultramodern tashme te kaluar. Merzitja nga loop-et largohet pikerisht nga variacionet e efekteteve te mesiperm.
Lidhja e forte mes fotografive dhe muzikes na shplodh mendjen per te perfytyruar me lehte ato vizatime urbane te shoqerise se re dhe linjat e forta te nje arkitekture qe interesohet gjithashtu per tinguj te ri dhe eksplorues.

A VAN IN THE SEA [FOTOGRAF]

In 2011 Alessandro decided to buy an old (but super well constructed) motorhome, Hymer 1983 and move it along the south coast of Portugal in some of his favorite places along the european coast. He did that to be able to realise his personal photography project.
This is a small series of images Alessandro took when going to bed over the course of 2013.

OMAR FARUK TEKBILEK - 'AKSAK' [AMON TOBIN RMX, RARE ELEMENTS, 2009]

 

There was a remix by Amon Tobin round 2009 in which some knew for the first time the turkish master of music Omar Faruk. Too late for them!
Honored as a peacemaker and virtuoso, Omar Faruk Tekbilek is now one of the most sought-after musicians in the world, whose work transcends political boundaries while maintaining traditional sensibilities in a way few artists can manage.
Omar Faruk was a child prodigy, born in Adana, Turkey to a musical family who nurtured his precocious talents. At the age of eight, he began his musical path by developing proficiency on the kaval, a small diatonic flute. His musical interests were nurtured by his older brother and by a sympathetic uncle who owned a music store and provided lessons...
The album I'm talking is Rare Elements, 2009; a collaboration with the world's hottest re-mixers who revisit his Turkish melodies using sensibilities grounded in electronic dance music!

GILAD ATZMON AND THE ORIENT HOUSE ENSEMBLE [EXILE, 2003] - THE SILENCE HAS A VOICE, AND THE REAL MUSIC TEACH YOU THE SILENCE

Gilad Atzmon (born June 9, 1963) is a jazz musician, author and anti-zionist activist, who was born in Israel and currently lives in exile in London, regarding himself as a Hebrew-speaking Palestinian.
He was born a secular Israeli Jew in Tel Aviv, and trained at the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem, where he learned to play soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones.
He also plays clarinet, sol, zurna and flute. He studied philosophy in Germany and moved to London at age 32.


















His album (Exile, 2003), which opens with the amazing voice of Reem Kelani, is both an album about exile, but also an album where a space for exiles, and for those in transit, is created. It is also disquieting, and will be especially disquieting to many given the current situation in Israel...
This is not a generic album about exile. Those who read the papers regularly know that the Orient House is the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) headquarters in Jerusalem.
Atzmon is explicitly anti-Zionist in his writing. The choice of words for the songs that have words, the choice of material, much of this is informed by explicitly championing the cause of Palestinians in exile as against that of his homeland, Israel. In being forced to come to terms with himself as an Israeli, Atzmon is, in other senses, in exile from his own people.


















That the music is compelling, wonderful jazz, expertly, indivisably fused with Arabic modes and music at times, but still, great jazz.
Atzmon is an incredible saxophonist, and the ensemble is tight and expressive. The music is compelling.
But as I said till the beginning: in this case, only silence can teach us something worth hearing!

Diva peruviane e muzikes ethnic/latin/exotic/mambo/jazz/cabaret, e cila me zerin alien (kesaj rradhe nuk kam pershkrim tjeter!), shtangu veshet tona kur e degjuam per here te pare ne nje videoprojektim filmash amerikano-latin...
Endrra erotike neper mbremje xhunglash, teater grotesk me skena gjigante, reputacione tipit 'fuego del Ande'/'virgjereshe e Diellit', bizhuteri te perlyera me mjalte kulturash pre-kolumbiane, kercime hipersensuale, veshje ekstravagante, ze prej gjysme-hyjnie; faleminderit Yma!

NAFTULE BRANDWEIN - KUR JAZZ-I TAKON MUZIKEN HEBRAIKE (KLEZMER)

















Te degjoje Naftule Brandwein mbi skene, aty nga mesi i viteve '30, i stermunduar (si peshe!) nga kostumet e tij vezullues plot ndricime, me varje dritash te vogla per festa, ku ndoshta e kapte edhe ndonje korrent i imet elektrik, duhej te ishte nje mbremje e paharruaeshme!
Me siguri, nje tip qe binte ne sy Naftule (version grotesk), por qe kujtohet si i vetmi klezmer-man, me muziken klezmer ne gjak! Nje personazh librash, nje protagonist i Robert Crumb, apo Raymond Carver, i cili me nje mini-orkester, vetem kontrabas dhe kitare, mund te realizonin mbi skene Pinokun ose 'Princeshen e Vogel' (Tzadik, John Zorn).
Tim Sparks ishte kitaristi ne fjale; lindur ne Fargo (North Dakota, e mbani mend filmin e vellezerve Coen?)
Dhe njeri nga me te afertit e bashkepunetoreve quhej Greg Cohen. Dhe ky ishte kthyer tashme ne nje ikone simbolike per artiste te tjere me fame boterore, si Laurie Anderson, Lou Reed, Tom Waits (albumi Heartattack Vine, 1980) i cili luante muzike klezmer dedikuar mjeshterit klarinetist Naftule.
Rregullimet e ketij bashke me Tim Sparks perbejne nje nga pikat me te larta ku jazz-i bashkekohor takon muziken tradicionale klezmer.




















Naftule Brandwein (1884-1963) njihet sot si nje nga klarinetistet me te ndikueshem ne skenen e muzikes klezmer.
Lindur nga nje familje e stermadhe ne nje lagje hebrenjsh ne Ukraine (13-vellezer); dhe ja pse degjohen shpesh ndikime nga muzika ballkanike, bullgare, apo ish-republika te URSS... Naftule, bashke me vellezerit e tij (te gjithe muzikante keta) luajti violinen neper dasma e funerale derisa sbarkoi ne ShBA ne 1908 kur kishte 19-vjec.
Nga fama dhe reputacioni i menjehershem, talenti u autoshpall 'Mbreti i muzikes hebraike'! E meritonte!
Mes viteve 1922-1927 incizoi plot 25 albume; shumica me orkestra, por edhe shume te tjere si solist!
T'ia besh ta degjosh gjysherve tane sot muziken e tij, do e kapnin ritmin sa hap e mbyll syte!
Kurse ne do te kemi nevoje per atmosfere!

Nje nga vecorite me magjepese ne bashkejetesen mes dy te rinjve, qe me terheq sahere, eshte mosasgjesimi i perbashket! Perpjekja per te qendruar mbi siperfaqe (me koken here-here poshte nen uje!) mbush kohen e nevojshme per tu njohur.
Dhe nuk eshte aspak e lehte per tu arritur kjo. Ne pika ta caktuara te grafikut-perditor preken caqe te nje bukurie e niveli ndjeshmerie te papershkrueshme me fjale ordinere...
Te jesh i dashuruar, ose 'ne dashuri', eshte jetesore per shpirtin, dihet. Pa rezerva!
Te mesosh nga me te medhenjte mund te duket banale, por kjo trasmeton, cuditerisht, dicka qe nuk e pret.
Ose shpesh te rikthen ne nje gjendje lehtesie, vetndergjegje, te cilen e kishe harruar, ose qe te dukej madje e pakuptimte fale rrethimit nga mediat e reja dhe kokebosheve ne TV...
Si kjo historia e pijes 'Love Potion No. 9' (The Searchers) qe konsumohet ne Britanine e Madhe ne vitin 1959. Kthej nje gllenjke me teper dhe nuk kuptoj me nese eshte dite apo nate!
Ajo cfare duhet ne dite te rendomta, ku me te vertete zgjuarsia me absolute fshihet mes kraheve/shaleve te nje gruaje terheqese...
Rock'n roll apo krize ekzistenciale? Une nuk e gjej...
