Istanbul’s Lalalar reminds me of my avorite 80’s cult show theme, and simultaneously sound like a delightful dumpster dive of spaghetti western-psychedelics, Anatolian funk, sampling and hazy electronics.
The one constant: Lalalar is the type of band you want to move to with abandon. The title of scorching debut single "Isyanlar" translates to ‘rebellions’, and that’s more or less the gist of how this bunch operates on stage.
The band, led by the young singer and multi-instrumentalist Derya Yıldırım, drives the performance with a beautiful voice, melancholy and desire that blend together into a powerful amalgam.
She’s aided by the fantastic drummer Greta Eacott and three quarters of the world tripping band Orchestre du Montplaisant.
They don’t just deliver their own interpretations of Turkish jewels by artists like Selda Bağcan (thé Selda indeed!), Barış Manço, Moğollar and Nazım Hikmet, but they also draw their originality from their own beautiful compositions and the fantastic ability to improvise.
The warm, sensuous voice of Derya, the fantastic psychedelic saz-melodies, the groovy organ lines and the tight rhythm section all together result in a hypnotising sound. Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek take the righteous and rich Turkish poetry to the future whilst not losing awareness of the past.

Ritmet shamanike u martuan me traditen turke, duke u kombinuar ne menyre kompakte ne levizje vallezimi/rituali te nje fisi (posacerisht nomad) qe askush nuk i njihte mepare; qe keshtu qe lindi muzika e tyre. Shijoni me gojen hapur (edhe pse pak e embel per gustot e mia!) live-n e tyre per Karavan Sessions (2017).

Gaye Su Aykol e kam njohur fale Altin Gun, e pranoj. Vjen nga nje familje artistesh; babai i Akyol eshte piktori Muzaffer Akyol.
Ajo u diplomua ne departamentin e antropologjise te Universitetit Yeditepe ne 2007. Para karrieres se saj si soliste ajo punoi ne Toz ve Toz dhe Seni Görmem İmkansız se bashku me Tuğçe Şenoğul.
Ne vitin 2017, ajo kompozoi disa kenge per kolonen zanore te İstanbul Kırmızısı, nje film me regji nga Ferzan Ozpetek.
E verteta eshte se ky eshte nje nga rastet e pakta me te cilet ndjehem krenar qe ne moshe adoleshenciale te hershme, gjate nje udhetimi ne Itali me traget anash Adriatikut te dashur, une ngul kembe te blej nje album/cd te Mike Oldfield: Tubular Bells 1973. Ngel i goditur nga kopertina e ilustruar, tuba te perthyer ne forme nyje.
Pak vite me vone, ne Shqiperi, shikoja filmin madheshtor The Excorcism (1973) dhe fillimi pjesa-I e “Tubular Bells” te kallte friken!
Ishte vetem fillimi; muzika e ketij “cuni talent-gjenial, pothuajse-magjik” me pershtolli perjetesisht.
Ne moshen njezet vjec, Mike Oldfield (autor i Tubular Bells 1973, Ommadawn 1975, Incantations 1978) pati nje ide revolucionare: te regjistronte nje kompozim te gjate sa nje album te tere (dmth rreth 60/90min), i gjithe i luajtur (me njezet e tete instrumente) dhe te rregulluar prej tij (mbivendosja e tetedhjete gjurmeve). Kombinoi tema te ndryshme melodike te frymezuara nga zhanre te llojeve te ndryshme muzikore. Nuk i ra mendja per kohezgjatjen e pjeseve (mbi 20-min); te cilat tejkalonin gjere ate te gjurmeve pop qe radio trasmetonte.
Keshtu lindi Tubular Bells (Virgin, 1973), nje album i cili ndryshoi historine e sojit rock instrumental pergjithmone.
Aftesia e Oldfield konsiston se pari ne orkestrimin e secilit fragment, qofte ai rock, mesjetar, elektronike, psikedeli apo klasicizem (dhe duke e luajtur ate ne menyre singolare) dhe me pas ne ngjitjen e fragmenteve te ndryshme njera pas tjetres. Teknika rimerr ate te fantazive melodike te muzikes klasike, por spektri dhe fantazia e rrymave qe perzien mbart me variacion. Mandoline, kitare (te kuqe!), kitare bas, tastiere, fizarmonike debutojne dhe alternohen ne menyre harmonike, here duke zbritur e here duke u lartesuar ne nje kulm ylberesh, shoqeruar nga kori femeror dhe kembanat/tubat omniprezente.
Perben nje udhetim me vehte "Tubular Bells", i cili mbyllet ne menyre te bute, si kanto baritor, me kembe ne toke dhe me mendje te perhumbur/fluturuese, kercimtare mes nje lavdie mirenjohese.
Muzika bashkekohore nuk do te ishte me kurre e njellojte pas ‘73!

Nderprerje; eshte ky termi me i goditur me te cilin identifikohet me se mire kjo faze qe po perjetojme. Me sakte, nderprerje e heshtur, pa kushte, nje ndalese e imponuar me aq shume pasoja (+/-); se pari shendetesore, sociale dhe ekonomike. Mendje te shndrritura (me ne front - mjeket) po i dedikohen rrugezgjidhjeve kuptim-plote e vetpermbajtes se perhapjes globale. Kohe e paqarte e perditshmja!
E medoemos, zemra ngurtet, horizonti vizual mbyllet e si rrjedhim njeriu kapet mbas ngrohtesise si element human qe harmonizon shpirtin, familjes apo miqve te vertete, ndaj se bukures e simboleve qe ruan si embleme, kujtimeve me te thella, artit, Muzikes.
E nuk njoh tinguj me sherues, ciklone simfonike e purgative, udhetues hapesinore plot befasi e arome, e ne te njejten kohe aq fqinje me zemren e mendjen e njeriut sa kjo e Popol Vuh (albumi monumntal Hosianna Mantra, 1973).
Ekuiliber madheshtor (edhe pse perserites ne model me variacione te shumefishte) mes antikes dhe modernes, perkryer fale nje akustike mistike (piano, tastiere, harpe, violine, ze soprano), katarsis personal, ne gjendje te te transformoje shpirterisht e fizikisht (ndjen sikur fluturon - e sigurisht peshon me pak kg!).
Secila note e luajtur shpreh endje per nje atmosfere enderrimtare e kristalore, teper e holle per ta mbeshtjellur e shpjeguar me ze. Pertypja emocionale ndodh ngadalesisht (me melodi te perzemerta), duke iu kundervene clirimit energjik e te castit te nje gjurme klasike me vendosjen e nje rendi harmonik, pothuajse terapeutik, i cili prin ekstazen e perzgjatur (“Ah!”, “Kyrie”, "Hosianna Mantra").
Nese zbresim shkallet e vleresojme vepren, njihemi me artiste unike, te rangut te Faust, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Amon Düül II, Neu!, Can e kompania e te ashtuquajtures rryma (gjermanike) krautrock. Artisti gjerman Florian Fricke pervecse gjeni, ishte ndikuar ndjeshem nga orientalizmi indian gjate viteve ’70 dhe ndermori sfiden komplekse dhe afatgjate te shprehjes muzikore; celebrim i tingujve Lindje-Perendim, ballafaqim i formateve “te vjeter” me ata rinj (klasicizem, rock, psikedeli…).
Rezultati qe nje pasqyre e momentit artistik ne Toke; kryeveper (e fund) per veshin!
Katakombe te zbuluara qe notojne lirshem ne hapesire nen korde qiellore!
Me te vertete, bera nje kerkim dhe nuk gjeta asgje pervec se ndonje referimi kinematografik fale kolones zanore. E pafalshme, mendova.
E megjithate, ka qene i pranishem ne veshet e mi e mendje prej kohesh; me se afermi, kam degjuar albumin Talking Timbuktu (1994) si bashkepunim me kitaristin legjendar nga Mali - Ali Farka Touré.
Ry Cooder-it i referohet si nje nga "krijuesit e tingullit" me te frymezuar ne te gjitha koherat.
Ai e nisi karrieren i ndikuar fort nga nje revival blues, por shpejt u vendos si nje sajues/kompozitor i afte per te krijuar atmosferat me mbreselenese.
U be i famshem me rindertimet tematike te epokave dhe stileve muzikore (marrim ketu tex-mex, swing, rock'n'roll etj...), veçanerisht ne albumet Paradise And Dreka (1974) dhe famemadhi Paris Texas (1985) – jehone nga filmi i Wim Wenders me te njejtin titull nje vit me pare.
Pa motiv ta mbush post-in me shume permbajtje; hiqni corapet dhe uluni (ose shtrihuni) zbathur ne toke – udhetimi rrefyer nga nje “plak i mencur” fillon se shpejti!
