SIBYLLE BAIER - AND PRESS 'PLAY' LATE AT NIGHT [COLOUR GREEN, 1970/1973]

Colour Green, the one and only release from German Sibylle Baier, has been around since the early '70s. Recorded in her home between 1970-1973, the actress, writer, mother, and singer/songwriter chose family over fame, and it wasn't until the tapes landed in the hands of Dinosaur Jr.'s J. Mascis that they began their ascent into the world.
Have we found the female Leonard Cohen? Maybe...
Simply fantastic voice, simplistic but delicate melodies and a plain melancholy album. An album that turned out to sound amazingly current, despite it was recorded almost 40 years ago.

A wistful rendering of Vashti Bunyan, Leonard Cohen, and Joni Mitchell, Baier's conversational voice can be both tragic and comforting, turning the simplest task into a sepia-toned snapshot of longing.
Each track is like a field recording of the highest quality, with every whisper of the locale present, yet unintelligible. Baier, who would silently haul out the tape machine and press record late at night when her family was asleep, conveys the purest of intimacies with the kind of confidence only secrecy can afford. From the opening cut, when she sings "tonight when I came home from work/there he, unforeseen sat in my kitchen," the listener can't help but be transported behind the soft closed eyes that grace Colour Green's basement-scavenged, yellowing cover.

FLOTATION TOY WARNING - 'HAPPINESS IS ON THE OUTSIDE' [BLUFFER'S GUIDE TO THE FLIGHTDECK, 2004]

Can you tell me why you left me here all on my own?
    Can you hear me?
    Do you listen to me?
    'Cause I need you
But you once told me that friends don't need me
They just need someone to phone when they have nobody,
Nobody else to shout at when they're so very down

I have a book in which that I write everything
And I know where you've been
One day I'll tell them how I defeated you
And how I took your throne
As the meanest bastard in all Alberquerque
    And how I'm happy alone

THE AVALANCHES [SINCE I LEFT YOU, 2010] - KY DISK DUHET TE ISHTE NE KRYE TE KLASIFIKIMIT TUAJ...

Te thuash eshte nje kryeveper eshte ta minimizosh ceshtjen!
Ky album, me te cilin kam flirtuar shpesh gjate oreve te pasditeve dhe neteve kur kisha nevoje te hutohesha nga gjera te vogla e te thjeshta, ka materie te cmuar. Oh, po. Tmerresisht te nenvleresuar! Por, me mire keshtu.
Australiane qe luajne muzike ne pjata (6 dj me prejardhje muzikore nga me te ndryshmet) perpunojne kampjone (gjithsej 900 pjese unike!) nga disqe te meparshem ku me e bukura eshte se dallohen qarte refrenet me te njohura; Peter Gabriel, The Cure, Daft Punk ('A Different Feeling'), Air, Kid Creole and The Coconuts, Madonna e shume te tjere...

Hip-hop inteligjent qe fluturon lart ('Flight Tonight'), prerje-ngjitje nga vinile me plot bindje retro black ('Stay Another Season'), zhurme sfondi, noise, regjistrime live nga artistet pjesemarres ne studios, ritme te kercyeshme ne vetmi ne erresire (monumentalja 'Close To You'), per tipa rastafarian, old disco ('Radio'), elektronike per lounge ('ETOH'), rap bashkekohor i kendshem per tu imituar, western klasik i pershpejtuar nga nje dj me ngjyre ('Frontier Psychiatrist'), minigjurme elektronike futuriste ('Electricity') etj etj...

Kapeni ju tani!

    HERE A PIECE OF INFINITY

PORTOPIA '81 - 'COSMIC CITY SERENADE'

What if something really weird happenes to me during my first-time visit in the Science Museum?
As a child in an excursion, this sound it's like a little nostalgic feeling.
    But good old memories.
Twitter of birds in the second half.
It is for sure a sweet and sour feeling.
With the starry sky at night, you'll want to take a deep breath which will fill up every lonely chest...
